“The presentation you put together for our hedge fund conference was triple A - witty and interesting.”
John L, Oct 2009
“It went terrifically well. Absolutely excellent both in terms of what you said and how it was presented. I think that new business could roll-in as a direct result.”
Paul S, June 2009
Before setting up ‘Great Speechwriting’, I worked in marketing.
If I learned one lesson in that time, it was the importance of clear and relevant communication.
For some reason, people who write and speak clearly and simply on the weekends, often ruin their professional communication by smothering it in jargon and technical information. In their desperation to demonstrate their knowledge and expertise, they actually turn off the people they most want to impress.
It baffles me why so many articulate and talented people fall into this trap. The results are familiar:
- Presentations focused on ‘what we’ve got’ rather than ‘what you might want’
- Speeches that are dry and introspective
- Websites that assume customers share their level of technical knowledge
- A high-level focus on supply rather than demand
I try to use my blend of business experience and social speech writing to create original and impactful ways to communicate with a business audience.
I have worked with doctors, lawyers, builders, bankers, accountants and small business owners to create speeches and presentations with a twist. Their feedback is included elsewhere on the site.
I would relish the opportunity to discuss ways to help you create something equally punchy and engaging.
